High-Capacity Live Bottom Bin for Non-Free-Flowing Material into a Vacuum Convey System

Controlling the feed rate of non-free-flowing materials can be quite challenging in typical conical type day bins, hoppers, and silos. An optimal solution for handling these problematic materials in these types of applications is the utilization of a High-Capacity Live Bottom (HCLB) Bin. In this month’s Application Spotlight, we review a recently built HCLB bin that was equipped with some common accessory options designed to regulate the flow of material into a customer’s vacuum conveying system.

Ensign Equipment’s High-Capacity Live Bottom Bins are capable of being designed to integrate underneath a silo or to be just as large as any in-plant surge bin. They are often utilized to control the feed rate of non-free-flowing materials such as films, flakes, and powders into downstream vacuum, pressure, and/or screw conveying systems.
